## लालटेन : A Poem with Two Halves #Poetry ### Fire Tamed in a Lantern बिजली का इंतज़ार करने वाले गाँवों में आज भी जब शाम को सूरज डूबता है तो एक लालटेन सूली पर लटकाई जाती है बहुत सारी मजबूरियाँ पूरी रात जलती हैं उस लालटेन में आग अगर पालतू हो जाए तो घर रौशन रहता है ### Tired Fire, sitting under a Street light पूरी अय्याशी से बिजली के पेग लगाने वाले शहरों में लालटेन सिर्फ़ सजावट का सामान है ख़ाली लालटेन देखते ही लगता है जैसे रोशनी ने किराये का घर ख़ाली कर दिया हो और थककर किसी स्ट्रीट लाइट के नीचे बैठ गई हो   ##### Context Note This poem treats the lantern as a home for fire, and then measures the moods and sorrows of that fire. In villages still waiting for power, the lantern burns all night and carries many helplessness. In cities full of cheap light, the lantern is only a decoration, like light that has emptied its rented house and gone to sit tired under a street lamp. 2017-02-19
